tsuro vs LEAP: a LEAP alternative for UK law firms

LEAP is a cloud practice management system used by small and mid-sized law firms in the UK. If your firm is considering a LEAP alternative, this page explains how tsuro handles the work, conveyancing included, and how we phase a switch so nobody stops working.

Why firms review their options

A review of legal software usually starts with something inside the firm. These are the triggers we hear about, and they apply whatever system a firm uses today.

  • Conveyancing is moving to upfront property information, digital identity and faster, data-led transactions, and the firm wants its process ready.
  • Fee earners want documents, ID and source of funds collected without chasing by email and phone.
  • Supervisors want overdue tasks and files awaiting action across the firm in one view.
  • The firm wants AI to produce first drafts, with every approval recorded.
  • The firm is growing and wants its processes written into the system rather than kept in people's heads.

tsuro vs LEAP: our approach, set out plainly

We describe our own product here and leave the comparison to you. tsuro is the AI legal practice platform from Tsuro Labs Limited: one rail that moves each matter from instruction to completion, in conveyancing, private client, family, litigation and commercial work.

One platform for the whole matter

Business development, leads and estimates, client onboarding, matter management, document management and finance are six stages of one journey in tsuro, not six products. Work in progress, lock-up, aged debt and overdue tasks are visible live. The tsuro platform page shows how the stages connect.

AI on the file, signed off by a fee earner

AI prepares first drafts of letters, reports and contracts from the matter and your templates, and automated contract review and compliance checking flag what needs a lawyer's attention. A fee earner approves every output, with a record of who approved what for the COLP.

Conveyancing software that connects the stack

Property data from PT Data is in the file before the first enquiry. Searches and digital forms come through InfoTrack, mortgage offers arrive from LMS and Lender Exchange as they are issued, and submissions go digitally to HM Land Registry, with qualified electronic signatures on digital deeds. The report on title is assembled for review. See conveyancing case management software.

Client Hub keeps clients informed

Clients verify their identity through Yoti, complete source of funds checks through Open Banking with Yapily, and sign documents in Client Hub. They then see each stage of their matter as it completes. Estate agents, brokers and introducers follow the cases they referred in a separate referrer portal. More on our client portal for law firms.

Configured by the firm, not a project team

Stages, templates and tasks are set per team in low-code Configurable Workflows, with no developers or IT department required.

A planned move and a phased go-live

Discover, Configure, Migrate and Go live: client and matter data is checked before go-live, and teams launch in phases with training.

Questions to ask any vendor

Use these with every supplier you speak to, including us.

  • Property work: which search providers, lender systems and HM Land Registry services can we use without leaving the matter?
  • Report on title: how is it put together, and who reviews it?
  • Onboarding: how are ID, AML and source of funds handled, and where is the outcome recorded?
  • AI: what does it produce, and how is each approval kept for the COLP?
  • Supervision: can supervisors see overdue tasks and files awaiting action across the firm?
  • Change: can our team adjust a workflow itself?
  • The move: how will our data be checked, and how is the launch phased?

Switching from LEAP to tsuro

Switching from LEAP runs on our four steps, with the order and pace agreed with your firm at the start.

  1. Step 01

    Discover

We map each team's process and agree the data to bring: clients, live and completed matters with their history, documents and templates.

  2. Step 02

    Configure

Conveyancing and every other practice area get their stages, templates and permissions, built from your current letters and forms.

  3. Step 03

    Migrate

We agree the extract with you, then bring client and matter records and their documents across and check them before go-live.

  4. Step 04

    Go live

Teams launch in phases with training. Open matters can complete where they are or move across, as agreed.

LEAP alternative: questions about switching

Is tsuro a LEAP alternative for conveyancing firms?

tsuro is conveyancing software as well as a practice platform: HM Land Registry, LMS and Lender Exchange, InfoTrack, PT Data, Yoti and Yapily work inside the matter, and the report on title is assembled for fee earner review. It also runs private client, family, litigation and commercial work.

How do we move our matters from LEAP to tsuro?

We plan the migration with you, bring client and matter data across and check it before go-live. A phased launch with training means fee earners keep working throughout.

How long does it take to go live?

It depends on the size of your firm and its practice mix. We agree a phased plan at the start, so each team knows when it moves.

Is tsuro linked to LEAP in any way?

No. tsuro is a product of Tsuro Labs Limited and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the owner of LEAP.
