Client onboarding software for law firms

tsuro is client onboarding software for law firms that runs every new client through the secure Client Hub: identity and AML checks, source of funds, engagement and e-signing. Each outcome is recorded on the matter, so your team watches the checks complete instead of chasing them.

What our client onboarding software does

Onboarding is where a new instruction becomes a matter the firm can act on. In many firms it is still a run of emails, scanned passports and bank statements, with a fee earner waiting on each one. tsuro brings the whole of client onboarding for solicitors into one journey in Client Hub, with the compliance checks built into the workflow rather than kept on a separate list.

Digital ID verification for law firms

Identity checks run through Yoti, which provides digital identity verification and AML checks during onboarding. The client completes the check from Client Hub, and the outcome is recorded on the matter for the fee earner and the compliance team to see. Nobody has to post a certified copy or keep a scan in a shared folder.

AML checks and source of funds checks inside the workflow

Source of funds checks use Open Banking through Yapily. With the client's consent, the check draws on their bank data directly, so there are no bank statements to chase and no card details to collect. Because compliance checking, ID verification and source of funds sit inside the workflow, the next step is prompted as soon as the checks are complete, not when someone remembers to look.

Engagement and e-signing in Client Hub

The engagement letter and the documents that go with it are shared and signed in Client Hub, the same secure place the client will use for the rest of their matter. The signed documents are stored against the matter they belong to. Our page on the Client Hub client portal shows what clients see once onboarding is done.

Onboarding status you can see across the firm

AML and onboarding status is part of tsuro's live management information, alongside work in progress and files awaiting action. Supervisors see which clients have finished their checks and which files are waiting, as it happens rather than in a monthly spreadsheet.

How client onboarding fits the rail

Client onboarding is stage three of the six stages every matter travels. The estimate built in stage two flows straight into Client Hub onboarding, and the matter that opens in stage four starts with every check already on its record.

The stage before

Leads and estimates

Enquiries captured in the CRM, and fee, disbursement and cost estimates built in minutes in Estimate Management, ready to flow into onboarding.

The services behind each check

  • Identity and AML: digital identity verification and AML checks through Yoti during onboarding, with the outcome recorded on the matter.
  • Source of funds: Open Banking powered by Yapily, so there are no bank statements to chase.
  • Payments: Open Banking payments through Yapily and card payments through Stripe, both recorded against the matter.
  • Property matters: digital ID and source of funds in onboarding are part of where conveyancing is going. See conveyancing case management software.

Every integration, in detail

Onboarding without a separate system

Because onboarding runs on the same record as the CRM, the matter and finance, the client's details are entered once and every team works from them. Kingsley Bond Solicitors and Montrose Brown Law already run on tsuro.

Questions about client onboarding software

What is client onboarding software for law firms?

It is the part of a firm's system that takes a new client from an accepted estimate to an open matter: identity and AML checks, source of funds, the engagement letter and its signature. In tsuro it runs in Client Hub, and each outcome is recorded on the matter.

How do solicitors verify a client's identity online?

tsuro uses Yoti for digital identity verification and AML checks during onboarding. The client completes the check from Client Hub and the outcome is recorded on the matter, so nobody has to photocopy a passport or chase a certified copy.

How does Open Banking help with source of funds checks?

With the client's consent, Open Banking through Yapily lets the source of funds check draw on their bank data directly. There are no bank statements to chase and no card details to collect.

Can clients sign the engagement letter online?

Yes. Engagement and e-signing are part of the Client Hub onboarding journey, so the client reads and signs the engagement documents in the same secure place as the rest of their matter.

Can we see which clients have not finished onboarding?

Yes. AML and onboarding status is part of tsuro's live management information, so supervisors and the compliance team see which checks are complete and which files are waiting.
